The client is a major American retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores. The company’s goal is to provide an innovative and seamless shopping experience for customers, both online and in-store. They strive to create opportunities and value for their customers and the communities they serve.

Challenge

The client’s main challenge was the need for a customised dashboard that met the needs of specific retail analytics. They also needed to drive sales execution with localised needs, derive actionable insights, and support decision-making with analytics models. However, the existing system did not meet these needs, and a solution was needed.

Solution

To meet the client’s needs, we implemented visual reports in Power BI, leveraging their existing Teradata source system with SSAS. We then designed a role-based visualisation of the dashboard, with a user-role specific landing page. We also developed multi-dimensional SSAS models for improved performance of Power BI reports, and built standard integration capability to view Power BI in PowerApps.

With these solutions in place, we were able to meet the client’s needs for customised reporting and analytics, with fast response times and low maintenance costs.
