The company is a leading power generator supplier that caters to customers with power requirements ranging from a few hundred watts to 3 megawatts. Their services include installation, maintenance, and rental, and they have a rich history of serving customers across multiple states.
Challenge
The company uses D365 Business Central (BC) and D365 CRM for managing their operations. Leads for new installations or maintenance requests are entered into D365 Sales & FSM and then synchronised with D365 BC as new sales orders, which are then processed with the necessary inventory information. However, because these two systems are not integrated, this process was inefficient and caused delays.
Solution
We used the D365 Dual write core and D365 Orchestration components to synchronise standard and custom sales order data between the two systems. The D365 Dual write infrastructure offered seamless integration and allowed for efficient data synchronisation. In addition, custom Power Automate flows were developed to handle the synchronisation of non-standard data. This solution increased visibility for data analysis and decision-making, leading to more efficient operations overall.
Impact
The synchronisation between F&O and FS is made possible by the Dual write core and Power Automate flows. The Dual write core enables the standard data from both systems to be synchronised automatically, without the need for manual data entry or transfer. This reduces the risk of human error and saves time. Meanwhile, the Power Automate flows allow for the synchronisation of custom data, such as work orders, which would otherwise require manual entry. This allows for a more efficient and streamlined workflow overall.
Not only does the synchronisation process save time and reduce errors, it also enables easier analysis and decision-making. With all data synchronised and available in both systems, users can easily access and compare data, identify trends, and make informed decisions. This makes the organisation more agile and responsive to changes in the market or customer needs.
Because both tools are part of the Microsoft ecosystem, there is no need to purchase additional software or services. This makes the solution more cost-effective overall. Furthermore, because both tools are well-supported and frequently updated by Microsoft, the solution is future-proof and can easily adapt to new requirements or changes in the business environment.
